Julian Harr is a visionary sculptor of fantastic figures and tableaux that are telling compelling stories. He emerged out of the wacky art scene of Chicago during the early sixties. He first began carving wood and stone under an apprenticeship with sculptor David Naval of Chicago and continued to work and exhibit in these media as well as textiles and painting. His forms dazzle with their high level of craft, often polychromed finishes and sheer audacity.
